Microsoft 365 releases new AI Enhancements

This week, global conference ‘Microsoft Build 2024’, unveiled a series of exciting AI enhancements for their product suite.

Here’s a quick round up, looking at how these new features could transform your business operations:

  • Microsoft Copilot (their ChatGPT rival)

Microsoft has significantly enhanced the Microsoft 365 suite by fully integrating Microsoft Copilot into applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. This means smarter assistance for your business, that adapts to user needs and enables more efficient document creation, data analysis, and communication. Did we use it to help write this article? We sure did!

  • Enhancements to Microsoft Teams

Another standout feature announced is the new capabilities of Teams, where Copilot now delivers insights directly from meeting chats and transcripts. What does this mean? No more minute-taking or trying to remember who said what. The hard work is done for you.

For businesses embedded in the Google ecosystem, this feature presents a compelling reason to consider a switch Microsoft 365—especially where Copilot equivalent Gemini may fall short in Google Workspace.

  • AI Innovations in Windows 11

Particularly within the Paint and Photos applications, Microsoft is maximising AI capabilities and pushing the boundaries of creativity and ease of use. Things like automatic colour matching, enhancing image quality and intelligent cropping; the tools are designed to enhance user interaction and productivity across various applications.

  • Developments with Azure and NVIDIA

The expansion of Microsoft's partnership with NVIDIA to integrate advanced AI tools into the Azure environment marks a significant step forward in AI deployment capabilities. This collaboration will be a huge benefit for a number of sectors, providing tools to tackle complex challenges with innovative AI solutions. This includes integrating NVIDIA’s advanced GPUs for handling intensive computing tasks, and providing better frameworks and platforms for developers looking to improve training AI models, running simulations, and deploying AI applications at scale.
